Fix it! – make Wikipedia shine
Leading up to Wikipedia’s 25th anniversary in 2026, we will organise a handful of activities to strengthen Wikipedia. Join our Fix it! project!
Starting October 2024, our monthly competition Fix it! From unsourced to sourced is up and running. Volunteer editors on Wikipedia in Norwegian Bokmål, Norwegian Nynorsk, Northern Sámi and Inari Sámi will be adding citations and sources to Wikipedia articles. There will be prizes every month, and our goal is that no articles will be unsourced by the end of our campaign in December 2025.
Alongside the competition, we will be starting a collaborative effort to update and set up a maintenance team for the UKBot. This bot is used by Wikipedia in Norwegian Bokmål, Basque, Finnish and Catalan to assist with Wikipedia editing competitions. Wikimedia Norge will take on the responsibility of making the bot operate more reliably. This initiative will also help us learn more about how we can log wiki development projects, to make us less dependant on individual tech contributors.
Starting January 2025, we will be collaborating with library sector partners to add sources on Wikipedia. Exciting activities are being planned!
