Wikipedia turns 25: Facts first

Conference in Oslo on January 15th: Knowledge and free speech activists are working full throttle to counter disinformation. We celebrate Wikipedia’s 25th birthday by learning from each other. Join the conversation!

The volunteers who create Wikipedia are constantly revising the encyclopedia to root out errors and disinformation. But in the current digital climate, which strategies and tools do we choose? In this conference you will meet some of the people behind the world’s most used encyclopedia, and learn about value-based tech development.

Eskil Grendahl Sivertsen from the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment will talk about influence and manipulation online. Journalist and author, Kiyya Baloch, will talk about disinformation and the cost of free speech, based on his experience as a PEN Norway employee.
