The Wikipedia gender gap
About 8 out of 10 contributors to Wikipedia are men. To present knowledge in a precise and neutral way is hard, but impossible when those that share and discuss that knowledge don’t represent a diversity of voices and backgrounds. Which knowledge is shared, and how is it presented, when a large majority of those that edit it are men?
Wikimedia Norge wants to contribute to closing this gender gap. We work to increase the diversity among contributors on the Wikimedia-projects and the diversity of the content they generate.
