Cultural Heritage 2024: Photo competition
Which parts of our cultural heritage should we pay more attention to? During all of September, you can upload photos from Norway and Sápmi, and the photos can then be used on Wikipedia and elsewhere. Compete for prizes and recognition while helping to document our heritage!
1.4 million to counter gender gap
Globally, less than 15 % of Wikipedia editors are women. A project grant from The Norwegian Directorate for Children, Youth and Family Affairs (Bufdir) enables us to launch phase 2 of Growing the Female Ratio on Wikipedia!
March = Women In Red
Did you know that only 18 % of biographies on Wikipedia in Norwegian Nynorsk are about women? The numbers are slightly better on Wikipedia in Norwegian Bokmål (25 %), but not good enough. Join our editing contest, a writing course or an edit-a-thon – throughout March we will be turning red links into blue ones!
WikiNobel 2023
On Friday 6 October the world turns its eyes to Oslo as the Nobel Peace Prize is announced. And then many will shift their focus to Wikipedia to read about the Laureate. Wikipedians are on standby – we will update the encyclopedia in a flash! Join us at the WikiNobel editathon.
